DESCRIPTION & USES

PQD  is  a  non-sulphur  vulcanizing  agent  for   synthetic elastomers. It is used extensively for rapid curing of butyl stocks requiring heat resistance. Butyl of this type is used to  fabricate high voltage wire and cable products,  moulded electric components, and heat resistant seals and hose.  PQDhas also been used as part of the curative system for liquid butyl   elastomers.  These  compounds  are   formulated   as coatings,  sealants and electrical encapsulants. The  proper choice  of PQD and a  co-curative,  such  as lead dioxide or tertiary-butyl perbenzoate,  will  effect  room  temperature curing.

PQD  also  functions as a curative  for  Ethylene  Propylene Terpolymers  (EPDM). Improved heat aging properties are  of particular significance with EPDM elastomers.

CONSUMER PRODUCTS

1.              SILICOAT - 101

INTRODUCTION:

SILICOAT-101 water proofing agent is  a simple but  sophisticated chemical formulation (a poly methyl polymer) for the water repellent  treatment of Masonary, Bricks, Concrete, Tiles etc.   Brush it on the porous surface (3 coats successively before drying) and allow  the coating for atmospheric curing for 24 Hrs.  Then  wash off  the surface with a water jet.  The water repellency  of  the surface can be readily seen by the water droplets flowing off the surface  like mercury.  The coating is particularly effective  on the  exterior walls of buildings, and with proper  treatment  can last for five to seven years.

It also acts as a good primer for other non water based coatings.  Leaking ceilings and cement water tanks can be effectively treated by the application of SILICOAT - 101 water proofing agent.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

The surface that is to be given the water proofing is to be first cleaned  thoroughly for complete removal of dust, grease &  moisture.   Over this clean surface,  apply SILICOAT - 101 to form  a thin  layer either by spraying or with a brush.  Apply a  minimum of  3  coats  successively for 100 % effectiveness  over  a  long period.    Allow it to cure in the open atmosphere for a  minimum period  of 24 Hrs undisturbed.  The surface now is 100  %  "WATER PROOF"  and  moisture in any form will not be able  to  penetrate through the surface.

ADVANTAGES

a)         SILICOAT  - 101 is a clear, non corrosive colorless and  non toxic liquid.

b)         Extremely ideal for water proofing concrete surfaces, bricks and other masonary works.

c)         Protects the surface from cracking, water seepage and has  a durable weatherability with a strong transparent film.

d)         The  film is penetrative and because of this action  renders the  surface highly HYDROPHOBIC and offers  protection  from fungus.

COVERAGE

a)             DENSE SURFACE                           Approximately 100 square feet per liter.

b)             POROUS SURFACE                        50 to 75 square feet per liter.

c)            EXTRA POROUS                          50 square feet per liter.

For  effective  protective coating against water three  coats  of SILICOAT - 101 will be adequate.

AREAS OF APPLICATION:

SILICOAT - 101 has been tried in the Indian Building Industry for water  proofing Concrete surfaces, Concrete roofs,  Brick  walls, Mud walls, Water tanks etc.

Wherever    Fungus growth is a problem on any surface because  of the  presence of moisture, the instant solution is  obtained  by simply  coating  SILICOAT - 101.  It also  prevents  breeding  of Micro organisms on any surface, thus keeping the surface  practically asceptic.

SOME SPECIAL APPLICATIONS

It is a good primer for all kinds of non - water - based paints.

HEALTH HAZARDS

SILICOAT  - 101 is absolutely INERT , NON TOXIC, NON -  CORROSIVE substance and does not pose any health hazard . Even when handled with  bare  hands or when it comes in contact with  skin,  normal washing with water is sufficient.

II.           PVC CEMENT (SYNTHETIC ADHESIVE)

It  is a solvent based Synthetic Adhesive, extensively  used  for connecting  and jointing PVC Pipes of all sizes (varying from  Dia  to  24"  Dia)  in all  weather  conditions.   Its  extensive popularity  is due to its ease of application in the  field  use.  PVC pipes are connected for Building Drainage, Sewerage lines, as Cable  casings  etc.,  in  the  Buildings,  Factories  and  other Chemical  &  Industrial  Plants, where corrosion of  metal  is  a particular problem.

Pipes  and Pipe Fittings are simply cleaned at the  jointing  end prior to the application of the PVC Cement and after application, fit  them  in  the  manner it  is  needed.   Leave  them  without disturbing  for  few minutes and you will find the  two  jointing surfaces  have  fused with a strong bonding.  This  procedure  is applicable for all size Pipe lines.
